About
Meet Your Coach
I’m Elizabeth and I am so glad you are here. My mission at Betz Wellness is to provide personalized recovery coaching for individuals struggling with eating disorders. My approach is compassionate, structured, and rooted in real understanding of the recovery process. I believe that everyone is capable of full recovery from an eating disorder. As your Coach, my role is to be your support person when and where you need it. I am available to my clients between sessions via 24/7 text support. In this way I can help them overcome obstacles as they arise. I prioritize offering actionable, realistic challenges to my clients which allow them to build upon success in recovery every day. I foster hope and motivation for my clients when recovery is especially challenging.
As your recovery coach, I will collaborate directly with your treatment team including doctors, therapists, and dietitians to ensure that all professionals are aligned and working toward our common goal of seeing you fully recovered.
I strive to keep sessions positive and goal-oriented for my clients. Recovery is hard, but you do not have to do it alone!
About Me
Like many of my clients and their family members, eating disorders were not something I knew much about until a family member was diagnosed with anorexia and I found myself on the fast track to learning all I could to support them in their recovery. Throughout this experience I continually saw a need for more day to day support in recovery at all levels. I built upon what I learned in my own experience by becoming a volunteer with StayStrong, a local support organization whose mission is to provide resources, education, and support to caregivers and patients in their eating disorder recovery. I led monthly support groups for parents and caregivers of those struggling with eating disorders. It was through this group that I learned of the Carolyn Costin Institute Certified Eating Disorder Coach program and was immediately drawn to the idea of providing day-to-day real-time support for those with eating disorders at a deeper level.
I fundamentally believe that everyone can fully recover from their eating disorder. With clarity, consistency, and the right support structure my clients overcome food fears, restrictive eating habits, and unhealthy relationships with food and exercise. I am continually inspired by the bravery, grace, and insights that my clients develop in the course of their recovery; and love working with each client to identify ways to support and challenge them exactly where they are in their journey.
I live in Richmond, Virginia with my husband and our two dogs. My golden retriever, Rhett, is my ever present companion and often makes cameo appearances in telehealth sessions.
In my free time I enjoy reading, tennis, gardening, and spending time at Smith Mountain Lake.
